I am a graduate of Bethany University (1994), Scotts Valley, Ca., and attended Cal Poly Pomona from 1985-1989. While attending Cal Poly, I played 4 years of baseball for the winningest collegiate baseball coach in history, John Scolinos. My primary position was 3B, but bounced between there and the OF. Hustle, fundamentals, and the strong desire to compete was the reason I was a able to succeed at the collegiate level.
Following 3 years at Bethany University as a student and two years at Rancho De Sus Ninos, Tecate, Mexico, I came back to serve on staff at Bethany working in the Development Office, Athletic Department as Interim Athletic Director and eventually as head coach of the women's collegiate softball team for 7 years. In just my second year, I was named the Cal Pac Conference Coach of the Year. While coaching at Bethany I took my coaching talent to another level and began to work with kids in the community and helping them build their confidence while improving their skills to play the great game of softball.
I continue to develop the skills of players in the community for both baseball and softball. Coaching in both the Little League and Girls Softball League of Scotts Valley. In the fall of 2007, I coached a local 12u travel team and continued this past fall (2009) with an independent 13u baseball travel team (Santa Cruz Waves). In the summer of 2008, I was able to coach an all-star team of kids from Santa Cruz County and take them to Cooperstown, NY., and play in a 99 team tournament.
Currently, I continue to train kids of all ages in baseball and softball in the county. Santa Cruz High, Watsonville High. Monte Vista Chrsitian, Aptos Jr. High, and high school, Soquel High, Scotts Valley High and Scotts Valley Middle School are just some of the schools represented of kids who attend and take lessons.
